Graduate Proposals Engineer

We are currently looking for a full-time Graduate Proposals Engineer who will be responsible for compiling and delivering technical and commercial proposals in line with client tender requirements, company procedures, systems and processes. In the role you will ensure at all times that the company presents a high quality equipment package, that attains client technical requirements at a commercial cost base which is achievable, profitable to or for the company within a competitive market, and can be achieved within the presented lead time. Where applicable, you will provide technical and commercial assistance to Sales Managers in client meetings and conference calls, ensuring the company has a full understanding of the client application requirements and equipment expectations.

Job Roles & Responsibilities

  • To compile for approval technical proposals, technical clarifications and calculation sheets.
  • To compile for approval, commercial costings and quotations according to client technical scope of work.
  • To compile for approval full tender documents with support from key stakeholders.
  • Generate costs for proposals with assistance from finance if required.
  • To visit clients (when required) to discuss the technical proposals and support sales team at client meetings during negotiation stages as required.
  • Carrying out all tasks, duties and responsibilities in accordance with ACE Sales and Reporting Procedures.
  • To receive and act on relevant client’s feedback in a timely manner.
  • To proactively engage with engineering and drawing office for support on proposals.
  • Ensure attendance at department meetings.
  • Arrange and lead sales handover meetings.
  • Engage with stakeholders for agreement on proposal pricing.
  • Understanding of the importance of meeting customer needs and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Always promote the company in a positive manner.
  • Provide support to the wider business as necessary.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Essential

  • BEng in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • IT literate with Microsoft Package experience
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Pro-active
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Driven with thorough attention to detail
  • Flexible with a determined and ambitious approach to Sales.

  • Professional qualification management
  • Sales or customer service related work experience
  • Experience of CRM Packages
