ACE Winches Muscleometer - Cheque Donation to CHAS

Childrens Hospice Association ScotlandACE Winches Muscleometer pulled in the crowd to test their strength and stamina for a good cause, CHAS ~ Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.   The ACE Muscleometer was designed and manufactured in Banff and unveiled at their Offshore Europe 2009 stand.    Of the £777 donated during the 4 day event,  ACE matched that donation and presented CHAS with a cheque for £1555.  Amongst the many visitors to the stand was a representative from CHAS, Sarah Secombes.

The ACE Winches Muscleometer uses hydraulics, whereby the wheel drives a pump against an orifice to create a pressure drop.  The pressure drop is seen at the winch hydraulic motor which is used to create force at the winch to lift the load.

Winning female was Dana Macdonald of James A Macdonald and Partners, who achieved a very respectable 10mm in 15 seconds.  Whilst the male competition saw two vie for the coveted title of ACE Muscle Man.  Andrew Steinbach of AM-PM was narrowly beaten by Joel Jemine, a student of University of Aberdeen, who achieved 1600mm in 2.70 seconds. Both winners have received gift vouchers donated ACE.
